Our Process
Wikstrom Engineering Commercial Rooftop Anchor & Davit Inspections, Testing & Certifications
Here is the process you should expect when you reach out to Wikstrom Engineering to get your roof anchors, davits, lifelines, tie-offs, etc. tested or inspected according to local and national regulations.
Submit an Inquiry
First, click on the “Contact Us” button and fill out the form with your information and a simple statement about your needs and the preferred way to contact you or your team. Put as much or as little as you want into this form. We just want to know the basics about what your needs are and where the job site is located so we have a place to start when we call or email you back.
Once we have your contact information, we’ll call you or email you back generally within 24-48 hours (often even right away) depending on your stated preference. We pride ourselves on being extremely responsive to testing and inspection requests because that is our main focus and know that often speed is critical to keeping façade work on schedule. Generally, we like to have the initial contact be a phone call but email works fine too.
Quoting your commercial rooftop project
When we talk or email we’ll listen to your current needs, ask a few questions to clarify, and make sure we both understand the scope of work before going back to write up a quote. In general and unless you’re looking for consulting or install/repair services, we want to know:
- The number and type of tie-offs, anchors, davits, etc.
- How many buildings and their addresses
- Whether they need the 10-year test and certification or an annual inspection (or, a combination of the two).
- We’ll ask for pictures because it’s the easiest way for us to know for sure what we will be working on
- Testing/inspection timeline and façade access project timeline
- Any budget issues that need to be considered
- Any access or time of day constraints
After we have a reasonable understanding of the work needed we’ll provide a straightforward quote for your review and approval.
Scheduling
When the quote has been approved, we will work with you on the schedule for completing the job.
Project Completion
Once the work is complete, we’ll provide a report that indicates the testing and inspection results, recommendations for repair or maintenance for any that need it, an electronic and hardcopy logbook for each building, and any other information specific to the building or job that we feel you should be aware of. You will also be sent an invoice at this time.
